Often the best source of information about waste, fraud, and abuse in government is an existing government employee committed to public integrity and willing to speak out. Such acts of courage and patriotism, which can sometimes save lives and often save taxpayer dollars, should be encouraged rather than stifled.
We need to empower federal employees as watchdogs of wrongdoing and partners in performance. Barack Obama will strengthen whistleblower laws to protect federal workers who expose waste, fraud, and abuse of authority in government. Obama will ensure that federal agencies expedite the process for reviewing whistleblower claims and whistleblowers have full access to courts and due process.
The above was part of the white House Change.gov site for a long, long time. It was government institution direction and policy. No if’s, no buts. Obama and co were all behind it 100%
…That was till one Edward Snowden exposed that the USA government was stealing, hacking, bugging and cracking hardware, software, phones, computer systems and phone exchanges not just for the whole of America but for the basic entire world – all being done illegally under American laws and many, many international laws!
When it became time for Edward Snowden to expose the utter illegal actions of the American government – opps… the above section quietly was edited out from the government site two days after Mr Snowden’s own speaking up.
Anyone spot the double standards yet?
Amid the Obama administration’s crackdown against whistleblowers, Change.gov, the 2008 website of the Obama transition team laying out the candidate’s promises, has disappeared from the internet.
The White House won’t respond to multiple requests for comment on why the page was deleted. No surprise there – they only speak up when its onlyin their mind to spin more double-standard propaganda!
The page has long had a link to whitehouse.gov along with a note saying that “the transition has ended and the new administration has begun;” however, the website’s pages have recently become inaccessible from the site. We may wonder why but its not too hard to guess to be honest!
Prior to the Snowden leaks but after Pfc. Bradley Manning gave classified information to WikiLeaks, the Obama administration launched the Insider Threat program to combat leaks, in part by asking co-workers to keep a close eye on their fellow employees (You know, like the once communist German Stasi Police used to do with its people!) . The program also ordered more protections for those who use proper channels, but in reality what happened was that four national security whistleblowers became instead, targets of Justice Department investigations after bringing concerns to the Department of Defence Inspector General.
Let’s be honest – its say one thing and do another from an international and home law-breaking government that is spying on its whole nation and the world. The double-standards and lies coming from the White House is sickening per day.
